MACRO PERFORMANCE GRANT: IN FY22 THE COMMUNITY MEDIATION CENTER - CALVERT MEDIATORS VOLUNTEERED OVER 2790 HOURS FOR OUTREACH AND MEDIATION SERVICES. THE CENTER WAS REFERRED 136 CASES OF WHICH 60 WERE MEDIATED, TOTALING 79 MEDIATION SESSIONS. VOLUNTEERS ALSO CONDUCTED GROUP FACILITATIONS, CONFLICT RESOLUTION EDUCATION SESSIONS, AND PRESENTATIONS IN THE COMMUNITY. RESTORATIVE JUSTICE GRANT: THIS GRANT ENABLES CMCC TO PROVIDE RESTORATIVE JUSTICE INTERVENTIONS AND OTHER RESTORATIVE PROCESSES TO THE COMMUNITY. WE ARE ABLE TO PROVIDE SERVICES TO THE SCHOOLS, THE DEPT. OF JUVENILE AND FAMILY SERVICES, THE CALVERT STATES ATTORNEY, AND OTHERS IN THE COMMUNITY TO PREVENT VIOLENCE AND INCREASE UNDERSTANDING AMONG DIVERSE COMMUNITY MEMBERS. THESE SERVICES CAN HELP TO PREVENT SCHOOL DROP-OUT, PROVIDE RESTITUTION FOR VICTIMS OF CRIME AND OTHER DESTRUCTIVE ACTS, INCREASE A SENSE OF COMMUNITY IN A CLASSROOM, AND TO INCREASE COMMUNICATION AND SUPPORT AMONG COMMUNITY MEMBERS. THIS YEAR, WE PROVIDED WEEKLY CLASSROOM PEACE CIRCLES, SUPPORT CIRCLES FOR HIGH SCHOOLERS, AND SEVERAL COMMUNITY CONFERENCES TO RESOLVE STUDENT CONFLICTS AND FIGHTING. CALVERT COUNTY FAMILY NETWORK (CCFN) CONTRACT: WE NOW HAVE A CONTRACT WITH THE CCFN TO BE A COMMUNITY PROVIDER OF THE TRIPLE P PARENTING PROGRAM. THIS IS AN EVIDENCE-BASED INTERVENTION TO SUPPORT PARENTS IN POSITIVE PARENTING TO PREVENT AND ADDRESS CHILD AND TEEN BEHAVIORAL ISSUES. WE BEGAN PROVIDING PARENT DISCUSSION GROUPS THIS YEAR AND WILL CONTINUE THESE GROUPS IN FY23. ASSOCIATION OF COMMUNITY AND RESTORATIVE JUSTICE (NACRJ)GRANT: WE RECEIVED A GRANT FROM NACRJ TO PROVIDE PEER FACILITATION TRAINING TO HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS AND TO SUPPORT THEM IN DEVELOPING AND DELIVERING A SERIES OF ADVISORY LESSONS AND DISCUSSIONS TO THE STUDENT POPULATION ON TOPICS OF IMPORTANCE TO THEM, INCLUDING RACIAL ISSUES, WOMEN'S ISSUES, DISABILITY AWARENESS, AND MENTAL HEALTH.
