THIS PAST YEAR, THE FUND CONTINUED TO PIVOT IN THE WAKE OF THE GLOBAL PANDEMIC. THE KAY YOW CANCER FUND EMBARKED ON A NATIONWIDE EMPOWERMENT TOUR. THE EMPOWERMENT TOUR EDUCATES, EQUIPS, AND EMPOWERS THE NEXT GENERATION TO CHANGE THE NARRATIVE FOR WOMEN WHO ARE DISPROPORTIONATELY AFFECTED BY TRIPLE NEGATIVE BREAST CANCER. THE FUND ALSO HOSTED A WEEKLY PODCAST FEATURING CANCER SURVIVORS WHO ARE THRIVING AFTER THEIR DIAGNOSIS TO PROVIDE HOPE AND ENCOURAGEMENT TO MANY. BOTH INITIATIVES ELEVATED THE UNDERSERVED PROGRAM AND THE MISSION OF THE FUND. IN APRIL, THE FUND AWARDED A 100,000 GRANT TO MASONIC CANCER CENTER IN MINNEAPOLIS, MN. THE GRANT FOCUSED ON TRIPLE NEGATIVE BREAST CANCER AND ITS DISPROPORTIONATE EFFECTS ON BLACK WOMEN.
