ALLIANCE IS A COMMUNITY EMPOWERMENT ORGANIZATION WORKING TO ENSURE THAT ALL PEOPLE CAN ACHIEVE THEIR FULL POTENTIAL IN AN ENVIRONMENT OF HARMONY, SAFETY, EQUALITY, AND JUSTICE.

IMMIGRANT RELIEF FUND: ALLIANCE CREATED AN IMMIGRANT RELIEF FUND (IRF) TO ASSIST IMMIGRANT FAMILIES WHO WERE HIT PARTICULARLY HARD BY THE PANDEMIC, WHO LOST WAGES OR JOBS BECAUSE OF THE CLOSURES OF BUSINESSES, AND WHO WERE NOT ABLE TO ACCESS GOVERNMENT RELIEF. ALLIANCE RAISED MONEY FOR THE FUND AND WORKED WITH COMMUNITY PARTNERS TO GET THE WORD OUT ABOUT THE IRF. APPLICANTS WERE ASKED TO SUBMIT THEIR REQUEST FOR A RELIEF GRANT THROUGH A WEBSITE. APPLICANTS WERE THEN VETTED AND AWARDED $500 GRANTS UNTIL THE AVAILABLE FUNDING WAS EXHAUSTED. FAMILIES WHO WERE AWARDED FUNDS REPORTED THAT THEY USED THE GRANTS TO PAY FOR BASIC NECESSITIES LIKE FOOD, HOUSING, AND MEDICAL EXPENSES. ALLIANCE IS PROUD TO HAVE AWARDED OVER 2,300 GRANTS TO FAMILIES IN NEED.
CIVIC ENGAGEMENT: THROUGH ITS CIVIC ENGAGEMENT PROGRAM, ALLIANCE IS EDUCATING COMMUNITY MEMBERS ABOUT HOW TO PARTICIPATE IN OUR DEMOCRACY SUCH IS THROUGH VOTING. ALLIANCE IS ALSO DEVELOPING THEIR SKILLS AS LEADERS AND ENGAGING THEM ON ISSUES THAT IMPACT OUR COMMUNITIES, PREPARING THEM TO SPEAK TO POLICYMAKERS, TO THE MEDIA, AND TO THEIR NEIGHBORS.
SOUTHERN BORDER COMMUNITIES COALITION: IDENTIFYING BORDER ENFORCEMENT POLICIES AND PRACTICES THAT UNDERMINE HUMAN RIGHTS AND IS DEVELOPING SOLUTIONS TO ENSURE THAT ALL PEOPLE ARE TREATED WITH DIGNITY AND RESPECT IN OUR REGION.
