GREEN COLUMBUS IS A NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION DEDICATED TO PROMOTING SUSTAINABLE LIVING IN CENTRAL OHIO AND GLOBALLY.

GREEN COLUMBUS HELD OUR ANNUAL EARTH DAY EVENT WITH OVER 6,200 VOLUNTEERS DONATING OVER 17,800 VOLUNTEER HOURS AT OVER 175 SERVICE SITES. AS PART OF THE PROGRAM OVER 20,100 TREES WERE PLANTED.
GREEN COLUMBUS PROVIDED MONTHLY GREEN DRINKS PROGRAMMING THROUGHOUT THE YEAR OF 2019. AT THESE MONTHLY PROGRAMS, GREEN COLUMBUS ORGANIZED AN HOUR OF NETWORKING FOR SUSTAINABILITY MINDED PROFESSIONALS FOLLOWED BUY AN HOUR OF EDUCATIONAL SPEAKERS.
GREEN COLUMBUS HOSTED VARIOUS CLEANUPS AND TREE GIVEAWAYS THROUGHOUT 2019, INCLUDING PARTNERING WITH COSI FOR A FALL CLEANUP CALLED THE SCIOTO SWEEP ON SEPTEMBER 28TH 2019. OVER 300 VOLUNTEERS CLEANED UP THE SCIOTO RIVER WITHIN THE I-270 LOOP IN CENTRAL OHIO IN A SINGLE MORNING. OTHER INITIATIVES INVOLVED SMALLER SCALE CLEANUPS.
GREEN COLUMBUS OPERATED TWO TREE NURSERIES IN 2019 IN TWO DISTRESSED NEIGHBORHOODS. IN THE FALL, GREEN COLUMBUS GAVE AWAY OVER 1,250 TREES IN THREE GALLON CONTAINERS FOR FREE.
