IN ADDITION, IHC WAS ORGANIZED TO PROVIDE FUNDS AND OTHER ASSISTANCE TO AND FOR THE BENEFIT TO ITS AFFILIATES, INDEPENDENT LIVING, INC. AND IL STRATEGY GROUP INC.

CONSUMER DIRECTED PERSONAL ASSISTANCE SERVICES - PROVIDED IN COOPERATION WITH THE LOCAL DEPARTMENTS OF SOCIAL SERVICES IN ORANGE, ULSTER, SULLIVAN, AND DUTCHESS COUNTIES, THIS PROGRAM PROVIDES A UNIQUE ALTERNATIVE TO TRADITIONAL ATTENDANT CARE, GIVEN INDIVIDUALS BEING SERVED THE OPPORTUNITY TO TAKE CONTROL OVER THE PERSONAL CARE SERVICES THEY RECEIVE - DECIDING HOW, WHEN AND BY WHOM THOSE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED.
INDEPENDENT SUPPORT SERVICES (ISS) - ISS SERVICES BY PROVIDING FUNDING TO PAY FOR HOUSING COSTS WHICH ALLOW AN INDIVIDUAL TO LIVE IN HIS OR HER OWN HOME OR APARTMENT. THE GOAL OF THESE SUPPORTS AND SERVICES IS TO HELP PEOPLE WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES LEAD RICHER LIVES THAT INCLUDE MEANINGFUL RELATIONSHIPS, GOOD HEALTH, PERSONAL GROWTH AND PRODUCTIVITY, AND HOMES IN THEIR COMMUNITIES.
