THE ORGANIZATIONS PRIMARY MISSION IS TO PROVIDE CULTURALLY SENSITIVE PROGRAMS AND SERVICES CREATING A PAN-ASIAN COMMUNITY THAT ADVOCATES FOR AND SUPPORTS ITSELF.

NMAFC REMAINS THE ONLY SOCIAL SERVICE AGENCY IN NEW MEXICO PROVIDING CULTURALLY TAILORED SERVICES AND PROGRAMS FOR THE ASIAN PACIFIC ISLANDER POPULATION. THE COMPREHENSIVE RANGE OF OFFERINGS INCLUDES DIRECT SERVICES FOR SURVIVORS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, SEXUAL ASSAULT, AND OTHER CRIMES SUCH AS CASE MANAGEMENT, COUNSELING, LEGAL CONSULTATION AND REPRESENTATION, TRADITIONAL YOGA AND MEDITATION HEALING CIRCLES, AND PEER SUPPORT GROUPS; AS WELL AS OTHER PROGRAMMING BUILT TO FURTHER OUR MISSION INCLUDING MULTIGENERATIONAL FAMILY ACTIVITIES, PREVENTION EDUCATION, COMMUNITY OUTREACH, YOUTH LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT, CROSS-RACIAL COALITION BUILDING, CIVIC ENGAGEMENT, INTERPRETATION AND TRANSLATION, AND ADVOCACY FOR POLICY CHANGE. THIS YEAR, NMAFC PROVIDED OVER 500 DIRECT SERVICES TO APPROX. 416 CLIENTS, 83% OF WHOM REPORTED LOW TO EXTREMELY LOW INCOME LEVELS AND 75% ACCESSED SERVICES IN A LANGUAGE OTHER THAN ENGLISH. NMAFC REACHED OVER 6,000 INDIVIDUALS THROUGH CIVIC ENGAGEMENT, FAMILY SUPPORTS, YOUTH DEVELOPMENT, AND OTHER PROGRAMMING AND PROVIDED OVER 540 HOURS OF INTERPRETATION AND TRANSLATION SERVICES IN 13 ASIAN LANGUAGES TO A VARIETY OF STATE AND LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS AND AGENCIES.
