THE SPECTROSCOPY SOCIETY OF PITTSBURGH IS ORGANIZED TO PROMOTE THE INCREASE OF KNOWLEDGE OF SPECTROSCOPY, TO PROMOTE THE DISSEMINATION OF SUCH KNOWLEDGE, AND TO PROMOTE THE COOPERATION OF WORKERS IN THE FIELD OF SPECTROSCOPY.

Part 3 - Line 4a

THE SOCIETY PROVIDES GRANTS TO UNIVERSITIES, HIGH SCHOOLS, AND NOT-FOR-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS FOR EDUCATION AND ADVANCEMENT IN THE FIELD OF APPLIED SPECTROSCOPY. THE SOCIETY FUNDED NUMEROUS TEACHERS WITH EQUIPMENT GRANTS AND EQUIPMENT, FUNDED PROJECTS AT CARNEGIE SCIENCE CENTER, AND PROVIDED GRANTS TO LOCAL ELEMENTARY AND MIDDLE SCHOOLS TO SUPPORT DEVELOPMENT OF ELEMENTARY SCIENCE OLYMPIAD PROGRAMS.
