THE MISSION OF ICW VOCATIONAL SERVICES, INC. IS TO TEACH, EMPOWER, AND SUPPORT INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES THROUGH A CONTINUUM OF SERVICES; AND TO PROMOTE LIFELONG LEARNING TO MAXIMIZE THE INDIVIDUAL'S POTENTIAL TO OBTAIN THEIR GOALS WITH DIGNITY.
Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
ICW PROVIDED VOCATIONAL TRAINING AND EMPLOYMENT SERVICES TO APPROXIMATELY 75 PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES WHILE MAXIMIZING THE INDIVIDUAL'S POTENTIAL TO OBTAIN THEIR GOALS WITH DIGNITY. ICW CONTINUES TO OFFER INDIVDUALS WITH DISABILITIES THE FOLLOWING SERVICES/SUPPORTS: FACILITY BASED TRAINING - SEVERAL LOCAL COMPANIES PROVIDE INDIVIDUALS WITH REALISTIC WORK EXPERIENCE THAT HELP DEVELOP APPROPRIATE WORK SKILLS AND BEHAVIORS. INDIVIDUALS ALSO HAVE THE CHOICE TO WORK IN THE COMPANY'S COMMERCIAL KITCHEN PREPARING THEM FOR ENTRY-LEVEL POSITIONS IN THE FOOD SERVICE INDUSTRY. SMALL GROUP EMPLOYMENT - A GREATER NUMBER OF INDIVIDUALS ARE INTEGRATED INTO COMMUNITY JOBS THROUGH THE SMALL GROUP EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM IN CONJUCTION WITH MANY PARTICIPATING BUSINESSES. SUPPORTED EMPLOYMENT - ICW PROVIDES A TEAM OF VOCATIONAL SPECIALISTS TO ASSIST AND SUPPORT PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES TO LOCATE AND KEEP JOBS. ICW SUPPORTS EMPLOYERS WHO HIRE INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES BY PROVIDING PRACTICAL GUIDANCE IN ACCOMPLISHING WORKFORCE DIVERSITY. STEPS TO SUCCESS - THIS PROGRAM PROVIDES ESSENTIAL TRAINING FOR INDIVIDUALS WORKING TO MEET THEIR GOALS OF INDEPENDENT LIVING AND COMMUNITY EMPLOYMENT. IN-HOME AND COMMUNITY SUPPORT - THIS PROGRAM OFFERS PERSONAL ASSISTANCE TO BUILD DAILY LIVING AND SOCIAL SKILLS.
