THE PURPOSE OF THE ASSOCIATION IS TO SUPPORT AND ENRICH FAMILIES IN A COMMUNITY CONTEXT TO BUILD MORE VITAL LIVES AND NEIGHBORHOODS IN SOUTH PITTSBURGH. THROUGH ITS PROVISION OF HUMAN SERVICES AND COMMUNITY ACTION, THE ASSOCIATION RECOGNIZES COMMUNITY STRENGTHS AND ENCOURAGES SELF-HELP, CITIZEN EDUCATION, AND COMMUNITY IMPROVEMENT. THE ASSOCIATION HAS TWO COMMUNITY CENTERS, THE FIRST IS IN THE SOUTH SIDE FLATS AND THE SECOND IS THE HENRY KAUFMAN NEIGHBORHOOD HOUSE IN THE HILLTOP. THE ALSO OPERATE A NEIGHBORHOOD EMPLOYMENT CENTER IN ALLENTOWN.
