TO PROMOTE A WIDE VARIETY OF HEALTH AND RELATED COMMUNITY SERVICES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO, MAKING GRANTS TO MAINTAIN AND IMPROVE THE HEALTH CARE OF THE COMMUNITY PREVIOUSLY SERVED BY THE SUNBURY COMMUNITY HOSPITAL.

THE SUNBURY AREA COMMUNITY FOUNDATION (SACF) IS A HOSPITAL-CONVERSION FOUNDATION, CREATED IN 2005-2006 THROUGH THE SALE OF THE SUNBURY COMMUNITY HOSPITAL. THE SACF JOINED THE COMMUNITY GIVING FOUNDATION (CGF) AS AN AFFILIATE IN DECEMBER 2006. CGF PROVIDES INVESTMENT, ADMINISTRATIVE, AND PROGRAM SUPPORT FOR SACF, WHICH OPERATES SOLELY ON ITS VOLUNTEERS AND HAS NO STAFF OR ADMINISTRATIVE STRUCTURE. THE SACF'S FOCUS IS ON CHILDREN'S HEALTH, EARLY CHILDHOOD, HEALTH-CAREER SCHOLARSHIPS, ORAL HEALTH, AND ISSUES REGARDING THE WORKING POOR. THE CGF HAD AN INFRASTRUCTURE IN PLACE THAT COULD SERVE AN ENTIRE REGION OF PHILANTHROPISTS. SACF AFFILIATED WITH CSCF FOR EXPERIENCED MANAGEMENT, POOLED INVESTMENTS, AND BACK OFFICE SUPPORT. THE SACF BOARD FOCUSES ITS EFFORTS ON STEWARDSHIP, DEVELOPMENT AND GRANTMAKING FOR THE COMMUNITIES IT SERVES. IN 2020, SACF AWARDED SCHOLARSHIPS TO STUDENTS IN HEALTH CARE RELATED PROGRAMS OF STUDY. THE FOUNDATION ALSO AWARDED GRANTS TO SUPPORT PROGRAMS FOR EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION, FAMILY ASSISTANCE WITH DIAPERS AND FORMULA, YOUTH DIABETES CAMPERSHIPS, HEALTHY FAMILIES, CHILDREN'S BLINDNESS PREVENTION, AND MEDICAL AND DENTAL CLINICS FOR THE UNDER AND UNINSURED.
