THE UCSD ALUMNI ASSOCIATION IS ORGANIZED AND OPERATED TO FOSTER A BENEFICIAL RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE ALUMNI AND STUDENTS WITH THE UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA, SAN DIEGO CAMPUS.THE ALUMNI ASSOCIATION CONDUCTS ACTIVITIES, EVENTS AND PROGRAMS DESIGNED TO FOSTER A LIFELONG MUTUALLY BENEFICIAL RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE ALUMNI AND STUDENTS WITH THE UNIVERSITY. THE ASSOCIATION WORKS IN CONJUCTION WITH THE OFFICE OF THE ALUMNI RELATIONS OF THE UNIVERSITY AND PROVIDES FUNDING FOR A VARIETY OF ACTIVITIES CARREID OUT THROUGH THE UNIVERSITY OFFICE OF ALUMNI RELATIONS. TOTAL GRANTS TO THE UNIVERSITY FOR THE FISCAL YEAR WERE $108,438. A BREAKDOWN OF THE PURPOSE OF THE GRANTS ARE AS FOLLOWS: FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF $206 WERE PROVIDED TO BE USED IN THE OPERATIONS OF THE ALUMNI OFFICE. $108,438 WAS PROVIDED FOR SCHOLARSHIPS AT THE UNIVERSITY. THROUGH ITS LOYALTY PROGRAM, THE ASSOCIATION SUPPORTS UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIPS, STUDENT RECRUITMENT AND MENTORING. PROGRAMS, REGIONAL AND AFFINITY PROGRAMS, ALUMNI PUBLICATIONS AND OTHER SERVICES TO ITS APPROXIMATELY 152,000 MEMBERS.FOR THE FISCAL YEAR, THE GRANTS TO THE UNIVERSITY EXCEEDED THE REVENUES PROVIDED THROUGH FUNDRAISING EFFORTS.
