THE MISSION OF KODIAK PUBLIC BROADCASTING CORPORATION IS TO EDUCATE, ENTERTAIN, ENLIGHTEN, AND EMPOWER THE PUBLIC; TO FOSTER A DEEPER UNDERSTANDING OF EVENTS, IDEAS AND CULTURES IN A FAIR AND RESPONSIBLE MANNER; TO PROVIDE A COMMUNICATIONS AND EMERGENCY LINK; AND TO ENCOURAGE PUBLIC PARTICIPATION IN THIS MISSION.

KMXT PROVIDES PRODUCTION AND BROADCAST OF RADIO SERVICE TO THE KODIAK REGION. THE LISTENER BASE IS VERY DIVERSE AND MULTI-CULTURAL. THE ORGANIZATION'S TARGET AUDIENCE INCLUDES SMALL VILLAGES, THE URBAN AREA OF THE CITY OF KODIAK, THE US COAST GUARD STATION, THE FISHING FLEET, AND SHORE-BASED FISH PROCESSORS.
