PPFV OPERATES 5 HISTORIC SITES, PROVIDING HERITAGE EDUCATION AND HISTORIC PRESERVATION EDUCATION TO THE COMMUNITIES OF BATAVIA, GENEVA,AND ST. CHARLES, ILLINOIS, AND BEYOND.

FABYAN VILLA MUSEUM AND JAPANESE GARDEN: APPROXIMATEY 10,000 VISITORS ANNUALLY. THE FABYAN VILLA MUSEUM SHARES THE HISTORY OF THE HISTORIC RIVERBANK ESTATE, FOUNDED BY COLONEL GEORGE FABYAN AND HIS WIFE, NELLE. THE FABYANS AND THE STAFF OF OVER 100 INDIVIDUALS SPEARHEADED ADVANCEMENTS IN ANIMAL HUSBANDRY, ACOUSTICS, PLANT CULTIVATION, AND THE DEVELOPMENT OF MODERN CODE-BREAKING WHICH CHANGED THE COURSE OF BOTH WORLD WARS AND LED TO THE CREATION OF THE NSA. THE JAPANESE GARDEN SHARES THE TRADITION OF GARDENING IN JAPANESE CULTURE WITH VISITORS FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD.


DURANT-PETERSON HOUSE AND SHOLES SCHOOL MUSEUMS: APPROXIMATELY 4,000 VISITORS ANNUALLY. THE DURANT-PETERSON HOUSE AND SHOLES SCHOOL MUSEUM SHARE WHAT LIFE WAS LIKE FOR PIONEERS IN THE MID-TO-LATE 19TH CENTURY IN ILLINOIS. WITH A FOCUS ON THE LIVES OF CHILDREN AT THE TIME, COSTUMED DOCENTS BRING VISITORS BACK IN TIME TO EXPERIENCE THE SIGHTS, SOUNDS, TASTES, AND SMELLS OF THE TIME. OVER 1,500 STUDENTS VISIT THE MUSEUMS ON SCHOOL FIELD TRIPS ANNUALLY.


BEITH HOUSE: APPROXIMATELY 1,000 VISITORS ANNUALLY. THE BEITH HOUSE IS HOME TO PRESERVATION PARTNERS, INVITING THE COMMUNITY TO APPRECIATE THE SHARED HISTORY OF THE TRI-CITY COMMUNITIES OF BATAVIA, GENEVA, AND ST. CHARLES, ILLINOIS. FROM THE BEITH HOUSE, WE ENGAGE WITH MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC, SHARING THE IMPORTANCE OF HISTORY WITH VISITORS, HOMEOWNERS, BUILDING OWNERS, AND MORE. VISITORS LEARN HOW TO IDENTIFY, RESTORE, AND REHABILITATE LOCAL HISTORIC STRUCTURES.
