THE WALTHOUR-MOSS FOUNDATION OWNS 4,198 ACRES SET ASIDE TO BE PRESERVED IN ITS NATURAL STATE. IT IS PART OF THE EFFORT TO SAVE THE LONGLEAF PINE ECOSYSTEM. A LAND MANAGEMENT PROGRAM IS IN PLACE TO ACCOMPLISH THIS. THE LAND IS OPEN TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC WITHOUT CHARGE FROM DAWN TO DUSK DAILY. 3,946 ACRES OF THE 4,198 ACRES ARE IN A CONSERVATION EASEMENT HELD BY THE UNITED STATES FOREST SERVICE.
