THE MISSION OF THE GRADY HEALTH FOUNDATION IS TO GROW BOTH PHILANTHROPIC SUPPORT AND BROAD-BASED UNDERSTANDING OF THE CRITICAL ROLE THAT GRADY HEALTH SYSTEM PLAYS IN THE METRO ATLANTA REGION. (ALSO REFERRED TO AS THE FOUNDATION OR THE ORGANIZATION.)
Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
GRADY HEALTH SYSTEM OFFERS A FULL-RANGE OF MEDICAL SERVICES FOR ALL SEGMENTS OF THE COMMUNITY WHILE CONTINUING TO MAINTAIN A STRONG COMMITMENT TO THE NEEDS OF THE UNDERSERVED. PHILANTHROPIC FUNDS SUPPORT THREE KEY AREAS OF THE ORGANIZATION'S WORK: CAPITAL RENOVATION, ADVANCED MEDICAL TECHNOLOGY AND EQUIPMENT, AND CLINICAL PROGRAMS. CAPITAL RENOVATIONS INCLUDE CONTINUOUS MODERNIZATION AND IMPROVEMENTS ACROSS THE GRADY HEALTH SYSTEM TO ENSURE THE CONSISTENT DELIVERY OF THE HIGHEST QUALITY OF CARE. DONOR FUNDING ALSO SUPPORTED THE JESSE HILL MARKET, WHICH NOW HOUSES A FOOD PHARMACY, TEACHING KITCHEN AND FOOD PANTRY AS A WAY TO ADDRESS FOOD INSECURITY AND TEACH PATIENTS AND EMPLOYEES HOW TO BETTER CONTROL CHRONIC CONDITIONS THROUGH DIET. OTHER AREAS SUPPORTED BY DONOR FUNDS INCLUDE THE GEORGIA CANCER CENTER FOR EXCELLENCE, THE MARCUS TRAUMA CENTER, THE GRADY BURN CENTER, THE INFECTIOUS DISEASE PROGRAM, BEHAVIORAL HEALTH PROGRAMS, FOOD AS MEDICINE, AND EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES.
