THE COLORADO MOUNTAIN CLUB FOUNDATION AWARDS GRANTS FOR PURPOSE CONSISTENT WITH THE STATEMENT OF PURPOSE ADOPTED BY THE FOUNDERS OF THE COLORADO MOUNTAIN CLUB IN 1912. THE COLORADO MOUNTAIN CLUB FOUNDATION AWARDED A GENERAL GRANT OF $90,000 TO THE COLORADO MOUNTAIN CLUB IN 2022.
THE COLORADO MOUNTAIN CLUB FOUNDATION IS IN POSSESSION OF A FEW RESTRICTED ENDOWMENTS WITH IRREVOCABLE BENEFICIARY INTEREST FOR THE COLORADO MOUNTAIN CLUB (CMC). FOUR GRANTS WERE AWARDED TO THE CMC DURING FISCAL YEAR 2022. 1) A GRANT OF $20,000 WAS AWARDED TO THE CMC IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE ENDOWMENT RESTRICTIONS PROVIDED BY THE PIETY CONSERVATION ENDOWMENT FUND. THE FUNDS WERE GIVEN TO THE CMC FOR CONSERVATION, TRAIL MAINTENANCES, AND STEWARDSHIP PROJECTS. 2) A GRANT OF $260,000 WAS AWARDED TO THE CMC IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE ENDOWMENT RESTRICTIONS PROVIDED BY THE ANCHOR ENDOWMENT FUND. THE FUNDS WERE GIVEN TO THE CMC FOR INSTRUCTOR AND TRIP LEADER SUPPORT, SCHOLARSHIP SUPPORT, STAFF SUPPORT, GENERAL UNRESTRICTED SUPPORT, AND SUPPORT OF NEW WEBSITE AND DATABASE PROJECT. 3) A GRANT OF $2,500 WAS AWARDED TO THE CMC IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE ENDOWMENT RESTRICTIONS PROVIDED BY THE ECKART RODER EDUCATIONAL FUND. THE FUNDS WERE GIVEN TO THE CMC FOR EDUCATION PROGRAMS. 4) A GRANT OF $4,000 WAS AWARDED TO THE CMC IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE ENDOWMENT RESTRICTIONS PROVIDED BY THE STEVE GLADBACH ENDOWMENT.
SINCE 1982, THE COLORADO MOUNTAIN CLUB FOUNDATION HAS AWARDED FELLOWSHIPS FOR RESEARCH CONSISTENT WITH THE STATEMENT OF PURPOSE ADOPTED BY THE FOUNDERS OF THE COLORADO MOUNTAIN CLUB IN 1912. THE CMCF SOLICITS APPLICATIONS FROM STUDENTS ENROLLED IN COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES AND AWARDS GRANTS RANGING FROM $500 TO $2,000, IN DISCIPLINES SUCH AS BIOLOGY, CHEMISTRY, ENVIRONMENTAL STUDIES, FORESTRY, GEOGRAPHY, GEOLOGY, HISTORY, AND LAW. ALTHOUGH FELLOWSHIPS ARE NORMALLY AWARDED TO GRADUATE STUDENTS, UNDERGRADUATES ARE ALSO ELIGIBLE. FELLOWSHIP GRANTS ARE MADE TO INDIVIDUALS ONLY, FOR RESEARCH UNDER THE DIRECTION OF A FACULTY MEMBER OF A INSTITUTION OF HIGHER LEARNING IN COLORADO.
