MEALS ON WHEELSOUR MEALS ON WHEELS PROGRAM PROVIDES A NUTRITIOUS WEEKDAY MEAL TO MORE THAN 1,000 HOMEBOUND SENIORS IN MONTGOMERY COUNTY WHO COULD NOT OTHERWISE PROVIDE IT FOR THEMSELVES. THE MEAL IS DELIVERED BY A FRIENDLY STAFF OR VOLUNTEER WHO PROVIDES THE MUCH NEEDED HUMAN CONNECTION AND A SAFETY CHECK TO THIS ISOLATED AND VULNERABLE GROUP.
TRANSPORTATION AND SHUTTLESENIOR RIDES PROVIDES APPROXIMATELY 300 TRIPS TO THE ELDERLY AND DISABLED POPULATION IN MONTGOMERY COUNTY. THE TRIPS ARE TO ESSENTIAL ERRANDS SUCH AS MEDICAL OR SOCIAL TRIPS. WE MAINTAIN APPROXIMATELY SIX ADA EQUIPPED VEHICLES AND MAINTAIN A FEDERALLY FUNDED CAB VOUCHER PROGRAM TO PROVIDE SERVICES IN MORE RURAL AREAS AND OUTSIDE REGULAR BUSINESS HOURS.
