HISTORIC STAUNTON FOUNDATION WORKS TO PROMOTE THE PRESERVATION AND REUSE OF BUILDINGS IN STAUNTON'S FIVE HISTORIC DISTRICTS AND OTHER OLDER NEIGHBORHOODS. THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDES VARIOUS PROGRAMS AND SERVICES TO ENCOURAGE CONTINUED REVITALIZATION AND PROTECTION OF OUR HISTORIC RESOURCES. PROGRAMS INCLUDE PUBLIC EDUCATION AND AWARENESS, ADVOCACY, PROMOTION AND TOURISM, TAX INCENTIVE ADVICE, AND TECHNICAL AND DESIGN ASSISTANCE TO THE COMMUNITY. BY WORKING WITH BOTH THE PUBLIC AND PRIVATE SECTORS, THE ORGANIZATION AIMS TO PROMOTE ECONOMIC REVITALIZATION, BUILD THE ECOMOMIC TAX BASE, ATTRACT NEW BUSINESSES, AND CREATE AN ATTRACTIVE AND VIABLE HISTORIC COMMUNITY FOR RESIDENTS AND VISITORS. THE ORGANIZATION IS A STRONGLY SUPPORTED VOICE IN THE COMMUNITY.
