ACQUIRED 5 PROPERTIES TOTALING 144 ACRES. RESTORED AND MANAGED MORE THAN 575 ACRES OF NATURAL AREA. SERVED MORE THAN 650 FAMILIES FROM OUR ORGANIC VEGETABLE FARM, INCLUDING HOMELESS FAMILIES, AND DONATED 1,000 TONS OF FOOD TO LOCAL FOOD PANTRIES. PROVIDE PROFESSIONAL STAFFING TO 4 LOCAL WATERSHED GROUPS THAT WORK TO PROTECT THE STREAM RESOURCE QUALITY FOR 7.4 MILLION PEOPLE RESIDING IN THE SALT CREEK, DUPAGE,DES PLAINES RIVER, AND CHICAGO AREA WATERWAY SYSTEM WATERSHEDS. DRAFTED A NEW TRAINING CURRICULUM FOR PUBLIC AGENCIES AND PRIVATE CONTRACTORS WHO LAY SALT IN THE WINTER. CONTINUED CONSERVATION ONLINE WEBINAR SEMINARS, PRESENTING 15 WEBINARS WITH MORE THAN 600 PARTICIPANTS. THE DUPAGE RIVER CLEANUP EVENT NETTED 8 TONS OF TRASH, INVOLVED MORE THAN 500 VOLUNTEERS AND CLEANED 47 MILES OF RIVERS. CLEANUP EVENTS WERE ALSO ADDED IN ST. CHARLES AND YORKVILLE ON THE FOX RIVER. EXPANDED NATURE RX PROGRAM INTO KANE COUNTY; INVOLVED MORE THAN 1600 PEOPLE IN TAKE-A-HIKE CHALLENGE AND 50 MILES FOR 50 YEARS CHALLENGE. CERTIFIED 65 PROPERTIES CONSERVATION@HOME AND CONSERVATION@WORK, DISTRIBUTED 1,200 RAIN BARRELS TO LOCAL COMMUNITIES, INSTALLED 4 NEW POLLINATOR AND OTHER NATIVE PLANT DEMONSTRATION GARDENS, AND DISTRIBUTED THOUSANDS OF NATIVE PLANTS, TREES AND SHRUBS TO HOMEOWNERS.
