Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
Part 3
THE CEDAR MILLS GUN CLUB HAS WORKED TO PROVIDE FUNDS NEEDED FOR AREA GROUPS THAT ALSO SERVE IN THE COMMUNITY, LIKE RELAY FOR LIFE TEAMS, DEER HUNTER'S ASSOCIATION, THE TURKEY ASSOCIATION, 4-H CLUBS, AND OTHER LIKE GROUPS. THE FUNDS FOR THESE GROUPS ARE GENERATED BY HOSTING "PANCAKE BRUNCHES," WHICH WE HOLD ON THE 3RD SUNDAY OF EACH MONTH. WE ALSO HAVE A FUN DAY IN JANUARY, WHERE WE HAVE BINGO AND PRIZES, AND KIDS CAN COME AND BUILD WOOD DUCK HOUSES FOR FREE TO PUT UP AROUND THEIR PROPERTIES. ANOTHER EVENT WE HAVE IN FEBRUARY TO RAISE FUNDS FOR THE CLUB IS A CHICKEN AND RIB NITE MEAL WHERE MEMBERS AND NON-MEMBERS CAN COME OUT AND ENJOY A MEAL AND AN EVENING OF FUN AND RAFFLE PRIZES. OUR BIGGEST FUNDRAISER OF THE YEAR IS OUR ANNUAL FISH FRY THAT WE HOLD AT THE END OF MARCH, WHERE MANY OF OUR MEMBERS AND THEIR FAMILIES WORK VERY HARD TO FEED CLOSE TO OR OVER 1000 PEOPLE. THE CLUB PROVIDES FACILITIES FOR THE DNR-SPONSORED "YOUTH FIREARMS SAFETY" COURSES, WHICH ARE HOSTED TWICE YEARLY IN APRIL AND SEPTEMBER. SEVERAL CLUB MEMBERS AND OTHER DNR-CERTIFIED INSTRUCTORS HOST THESE COURSES. ALL THIS TIME IS VOLUNTEERED AND IS GREATLY APPRECIATED BY THE STUDENTS, THE CLUB, AND THE DNR. WITHOUT THIS COURSE, YOUTH WOULD BE UNABLE TO CONTINUE THE HUNTING TRADITION. THIS PROGRAM HAS A TRACK RECORD OF REDUCING ACCIDENTS AND PROMOTING OUTDOOR SPORTS. THE CLUB PROVIDES A PLACE FOR THE TOWNSHIP TO HOLD MEETINGS. WE SUPPORT AND ASSIST THE RIDGEWATER COLLEGE AND HUTCHINSON CHARTER SCHOOL SHOOTING SPORTS AND THE CEDAR MILLS LIONS CLUB. IN 2022 WE REMODELED THE KITCHEN AREA OF THE CLUBHOUSE TO UPDATE ITS LOOKS AND MAKE IT MORE SUITABLE FOR EVENTS. THE BOARD ALSO WORKS EVERY FEW MONTHS TO UPDATE THE GROUNDS WITH NEW BACKSTOPS AND ITEMS THAT NEED REPAIR.
