THE FRIENDS OF THE HILTON HEAD LIBRARY WAS ORGANIZED AS A NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION TO PROMOTE LITERACY AND ENCOURAGE THE PURSUIT OF LIFE LONG LEARNING THROUGH USE OF THE LIBRARY'S RESOURCES. WE RAISE FUNDS TO HELP OUR LIBRARY BE THE FIRST-RATE PUBLIC SERVICE OUR COMMUNITY VALUES EXPECT.

THE MAJOR PORTION OF THE FRIENDS' ANNUAL REVENUE IS FOR THE ACQUISITION OF NEW MATERIALS AND PROGRAMS FOR THE HILTON HEAD BRANCH OF THE BEAUFORT COUNTY LIBRARY SYSTEM. IN THE CURRENT FISCAL YEAR THE FRIENDS PURCHASED BOOK LEASES, FUNDED NEWSPAPER AND MAGAZINE SUBSCRIPTIONS, AND FUNDED MANY CHILDREN'S PROGRAMS.
