MOBILE MEALS OF SOUTHERN ARIZONA (MMSA) DELIVERS SPECIAL DIET MEALS AND A SAFETY CHECK TO SENIORS AND PEOPLE LIVING WITH DISABILITIES IN PIMA COUNTY. IN FY 2021, 101,882 MEALS WERE DELIVERED TO 587 INDIVIDUALS UNABLE TO COOK OR SHOP FOR THEMSELVES. MMSA PARTNERS WITH 10 LOCAL HEALTHCARE FACILITIES TO PREPARE TWO MEALS PER DAY FOR EACH CLIENT. MORE THAN 341 VOLUNTEERS DELIVER THE MEALS ON 35 DAILY ROUTES EVERY MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY. ALONG WITH NOURISHING FOOD, THESE VISITS SERVE BOTH SOCIAL AND SAFETY PURPOSES, OFFERING PARTICIPANTS SOCIAL INTERACTION AND A DEPENDABLE CONNECTION TO THE COMMUNITY.
