MARYMOUNT OF SANTA BARBARA WAS FOUNDED IN 1938 WITH A COMMITMENT TO PROVIDING AN EDUCATION THAT NURTURED STUDENTS ACADEMIC, MORAL, PHYSICAL AND CREATIVE POTENTIAL. TODAY, AS MARYMOUNT CELEBRATES ITS 80TH YEAR IN EXISTENCE, THE FACULTY AND STAFF ARE THOROUGHLY COMMITTED TO THE VALUES FOR WHICH IT WAS FOUNDED AND STILL RESONATES IN OUR MISSION STATEMENT. AT MARYMOUNT, CREATIVE, ENTHUSIASTIC, AND INSPIRING TEACHERS ENGAGE STUDENTS IN THEIR LEARNING, CHALLENGE THEM TO DO THEIR BEST, AND PROVIDE THE NURTURING AND SUPPORT THEY NEED TO SUCCEED. MARYMOUNT TEACHERS TEACH KIDS HOW TO THINK, NOT WHAT TO THINK. MARYMOUNTS FACULTY IS COMPRISED OF 22 FULL-TIME AND SEVEN PART-TIME TEACHERS, WITH 50 PERCENT OF THE FULL-TIME TEACHERS HOLDING A MASTERS DEGREE OR HIGHER.
