CEA PARTNERS WITH EASTERN CARVER COUNTY SCHOOLS TO ADMINISTER Q COMP PROGRAM OF MN DEPT. OF EDUCATION. IT IS A VOLUNTARY PROGRAM THAT ALLOWS LOCAL DISTRICTS AND EXCLUSIVE REPRESENTATIVES OF THE TEACHERS TO DESIGN AND COLLECTIVELY BARGAIN A PLAN THAT MEETS THE FIVE COMPNENTS OF THE LAW. THE FIVE COMPNENTS UNDER Q COMP INCLUDE CAREER LADDER/ADVANCEMENT OPTIONS, JOB-EMBEDDED PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT, TEACHER EVALUATION, PERFORMANCE PAY, AND AN ALTERNATIVE SALARY SCHEDULE (CEA/ECCS HAVE ONLY PAY FOR PERFORMANCE SALARY SCHEDULE IN MN).
A TEACHER DVELOPMENT AND TRAINING PLAN (ALSO EXCEEDING MDE STANDARDS) IS ANOTHER COLLABORATION BETWEEN CEA AND EASTERN CARVER COUNTY SCHOOLS. THE SUCCESS OF THESE PROGRAMS IS PERHAPS A HIGHLIGHT OF OUR RECENT PROGRAM YEAR.
