Part 3 - Line 4a

MULTIPLE GRANTS TO KIWANIS CLUBS IN NEBRASKA AND IOWA FOR LOCAL PROJECTS IMPACTING CHILDREN IN A POSITIVE WAY WITHIN THEIR COMMUNITIES. EACH YEAR APPLICATIONS FOR GRANT MONIES ARE RECEIVED SEMIANNUALLY AND REVIEWED BY THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE. A PORTION OR ALL OF THE REQUEST MAY BE APPROVED OR DENIED. A RECORD IS MAINTAINED OF THE APPLICATIONS AND THE KIWANIS CLUBS ARE REQUESTED TO SUBMIT FOLLOW UP INFORMATION REGARDING THE COMPLETION OF THE PROJECT AND THE USE OF THE FUNDS GRANTED TO THEM.

CAMP OK IS A ONE-WEEK RESIDENTIAL CAMP PROGRAM FOR 5TH AND 6TH GRADERS WHO ARE FINANCIALLY IN NEED. THE STUDENTS ARE SELECTED BY LOCAL SCHOOL GUIDANCE COUNSELORS AND SPONSORED BY LOCAL KIWANIS CLUBS TO ATTEND THE CAMP FOR TALENTED AND GIFTED CHILDREN. IT IS A LIFE CHANGING EXPERIENCE FOR MOST OF THE 100 CHILDREN WHO ATTEND THE CAMP EACH YEAR.

DISASTER RECEIPTS WERE SOLICITED FROM KIWANIANS AND KIWANIS CLUBS OF THE NEBRASKA-IOWA KIWANIS DISTRICT AND USED TO PROVIDE RELIEF EFFORTS IN SMALL COMMUNITIES WHERE DISASTERS OCCURRED. THESE FUNDS WERE DISTRIBUTED TO KIWANIS CLUBS IN AFFECTED AREAS TO SUPPORT THEIR EFFORTS IN PROVIDING FOOD AND SUPPLIES TO VICTIMS ESPECIALLY TO AFFECTED FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN.
