THE TENNESSEE SPORTS HALL OF FAME HONORS THE OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENTS OF TENNESSEANS IN THE REALM OF SPORTS TO PERPETUATE THE MEMORY OF THEIR CAREERS AND SERVICE, AND TO PROVIDE A PERMANENT HALL OF FAME FOR THE DISPLAY OF MEMENTOS AND SOUVENIRS COMMEMORATING THEIR CONTRIBUTIONS.

DURING 2020 THE TENNESSEE SPORTS HALL OF FAME MAINTAINED AN ARCHIVE OF SPORTS MEMORABILIA LOCATED IN DOWNTOWN NASHVILLE, TN. SCHOOL CHILDREN, SPORTS FANS, AND CITIZENS OF THE STATE, THROUGHOUT THE YEAR VISITED THE TENNESSEE SPORTS HALL OF FAME. LONG TERM GOALS ARE TO CONTINUE TO MAKE IMPROVEMENTS TO THE MUSEUM AND TO INCREASE THE NUMBER OF VISITORS BY MAKING THE PUBLIC MORE AWARE OF ITS EXISTENCE. IN 2021 THE HALL HAD 102,213 VISITORS PASS THROUGH THE MUSEUM.
THE TENNESSEE SPORTS HALL OF FAME HELD THE ANNUAL INDUCTION CEREMONY VIRTUALLY BY CREATING A TV SPECIAL. THE PURPOSE OF THE BANQUET IS TO HONOR THOSE INDIVIDUALS AND TEAMS IN THE STATE WHO EXHIBIT AND CONTRIBUTE TO THE SPIRIT OF SPORTSMANSHIP AND GENTEEL COMPETITION AS WELL AS EXCELLENCE IN THEIR CHOSEN SPORT.
