TO RECOGNIZE AND ASSIST IN REUSE, RENOVATION, AND PRESERVATION EFFORTS FOR HISTORIC STRUCTURES AND SITES THROUGHOUT KENTUCKY, TO PROVIDE EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES ON PRESERVATION AND KENTUCKY HISTORY AND TO PROVIDE MANAGEMENT, MAINTENANCE SUPPORT FOR THE MARY TODD LINCOLN HOUSE IN LEXINGTON, KENTUCKY

THE MARY TODD LINCOLN HOUSE CULTIVATES PUBLIC INTEREST IN THE MULTILAYERED PAST BY SHARING THE STORY OF A WOMAN WHOSE EXPERIENCES RESONATE TODAY. THE MUSEUM CONTINUED WITH THE SELF-GUIDED TOUR FORMAT LAUNCHED IN RESPONSE TO THE PANDEMIC AND SERVED 13,571 ON-SITE VISITORS IN FY2022. SOME ON-SITE SPECIAL PROGRAMS RESUMED, INCLUDING THE MUSEUM'S POPULAR PRESIDENTS' DAY FAMILY EVENT, WITH INTERACTIVE GAMES AND ACTIVITIES FOR CHILDREN. A PROJECT TO REINTERPRET THE FAMILY PARLOR, DINING ROOM, AND HALLWAYS WITH NEW WALLPAPERS, FLOORCOVERINGS, AND WINDOW COVERINGS WAS COMPLETED. NEW PIECES WERE ALSO ADDED TO MUSEUM'S COLLECTIONS, INCLUDING A GRANDFATHER CLOCK, A HORSE-HAIR COVERED SOFA, AND SIX CHAIRS THAT ORIGINALLY BELONGED TO THE TODDS. CARE OF THE HISTORIC PROPERTY CONTINUED, INCLUDING THE RESTORATION OF EIGHT WINDOWS.
HELM PLACE WAS PLACED IN TRUST TO KMPF IN 1996 AND DEEDED TO KMPF IN 2012 AFTER THE DEATH OF THE LAST TENANT. KMPF CONTINUED WORK IN FY2022 TO ENSURE THE LONG-TERM PRESERVATION OF THE PROPERTY AND IDENITFY THE PATH FORWARD TO DIVEST OF THE PROPERTY IN A WAY THAT MEETS BOTH OUR STEWARDSHIP AND FIDUCIARY RESPONSIBILITIES.
