EDUCATION LAB - THE MILL TRUST CREATED A HANDS-ON EDUCATIONAL SPACE IN ITS CHICKEN COOP STRUCTURE TO SUPPORT SCHOOL TOURS AND MILLING DEMONSTRATIONS. THE SPACE IS DESIGNED TO TEACH STUDENTS ABOUT THE HISTORY OF AGRICULTURE IN CHESTER COUNTY AND THE USE OF SIMPLE MACHINES IN THE MILLING INDUSTRY, SUPPORTING PENNSYLVANIA CURRICULUM STANDARDS. ADDITIONAL EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS CONTINUE TO BE ADDED.
MEADOW/REFORESTATION PROJECT - THE MILL TRUST ESTABLISHED WILDFLOWER MEADOWS AND PLANTED OVER 100 TREES ALONG THE MILL'S TAILRACE TO ALLOW FOR STORM WATER MANAGEMENT AND TO MITIGATE STREAM BANK EROSION. NEW PLANTINGS WERE INSTALLED TO THE PROPERTY IN 2021.
MILLING DEMONSTRATIONS AND PROGRAMS - THE MILL TRUST OFFERS MONTHLY FLOUR MILLING DEMONSTRATIONS, SCHOOL AND GROUP TOURS, AS WELL AS HOSTS AN ANNUAL MILLERS' FORUM TO INTERPRET CHESTER COUNTY'S RICH AGRICULTURAL AND INDUSTRIAL HERITAGE FOR THE COMMUNITY, SCHOLARS, TOURISTS AND SCHOOL CHILDREN.
