THE MISSION OF THE NORTHEAST REGIONAL CANCER INSTITUTE IS TO EASE THE BURDEN OF CANCER IN NORTHEASTERN PENNSYLVANIA. THE KEY PRINCIPLES OF THIS MISSION ARE TO FOCUS PROGRAMMING ON LOCAL NEEDS, APPLY DATA-BASED KNOWLEDGE IN SETTING AND EVALUATING ACTIONS, AND TO SEEK COLLABORATIVE OPPORTUNITIES AND SOLUTIONS TO PROGRAMMING NEEDS.

REGIONAL CANCER REGISTRY: A SYSTEM OF RECORDING & REPORTING ON CANCER DIAGNOSIS, TREATMENT, OUTCOME, AND CLINICAL RESEARCH STATISTICS OF PATIENTS TREATED AT HOSPITALS & OUTPATIENT CLINICS IN NORTHEASTERN PENNSYLVANIA.


CANCER SCREENING NAVIGATION PROGRAM: FACILITATES SCREENING FOR BREAST, CERVICAL AND COLON CANCER AMONG LOW INCOME, UN/UNDERINSURED INDIVIDUALS IN NEPA. TRAINED NAVIGATORS ALSO FACILITATE TIMELY ACCESS TO DIAGNOSTIC AND TREATMENT SERVICES WHEN INDICATED.
