PHILADELPHIA YOUNG PLAYWRIGHTS SEEKS TO TAP THE POTENTIAL OF YOUTH AND INSPIRE LEARNING THROUGH PLAYWRITING. YOUNG PLAYWRIGHTS' PROGRAMS PROMOTE LITERACY, CREATIVITY, PROBLEM SOLVING, SELF ESTEEM, THEATER SKILLS AND MOTIVATION FOR STUDENTS WITH VARYING ACADEMIC ABILITIES IN GRADES K-12 IN AN ENGAGING AND INSPIRING ACROSS-THE-CURRICULUM FORMAT. YOUNG PLAYWRIGHTS ALSO SEEKS TO PROVIDE TEACHERS WITH A FRESH PERSPECTIVE ON THEIR TEACHING, AND OFFERS PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES FOR TEACHERS TO LEARN TO INCORPORATE ARTS EDUCATION INTO THE CLASSROOM AND ACROSS CURRICULA.
