GRANT PROGRAM - THE EMERGENCY AID SUPPORTS APPLICATIONS FROM TAX-EXEMPT, NON-PROFIT COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS LOCATED IN SOUTHEASTERN PENNSYLVANIA, WITH ANNUAL BUDGETS BELOW $2,000,000, THAT ELEVATE THE QUALITY OF FAMILY LIFE SPECIFICALLY PERTAINING TO WOMEN AND CHILDREN AND HIGHLIGHTING THOSE ORGANIZATIONS THAT UTILIZE VOLUNTEERS.
SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM - DURING THEIR SENIOR YEAR OF HIGH SCHOOL, FOUNDERS AWARD RECIPIENTS ARE INVITED TO SUBMIT AN APPLICATION FOR A COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP TO THE SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE. AFTER CAREFUL REVIEW OF THE APPLICATION AND A PERSONAL INTERVIEW, SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS ARE SELECTED BY THE SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE. EACH YEAR SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS REPRESENT EMERGENCY AID ON APPROXIMATELY TWENTY-FIVE CAMPUSES ACROSS AMERICA.
MENTORING PROGRAM - THE FOUNDERS COMMITTEE OFFERS SEVERAL SEMINARS ANNUALLY FOR FOUNDER'S GIRLS ON TOPICS OF PARTICULAR INTEREST AND IMPORTANCE TO TEENAGE GIRLS, SUCH AS: PREPARING FOR COLLEGE INTERVIEWS, ENHANCING SELF-ESTEEM; COPING WITH STRESS DURING HIGH SCHOOL AND DEVELOPING DECISION MAKING SKILLS. ORGANIZED SERVICE PROJECTS PREPARE FOUNDERS' GIRLS TO BECOME CONTRIBUTING MEMBERS OF THEIR COMMUNITIES. ALL SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS ARE PAIRED WITH AN EMERGENCY AID MEMBER WHO MENTORS THEM THROUGHOUT THEIR COLLEGE CAREERS.
FOUNDERS AWARD PROGRAM - AWARDS ARE PRESENTED ANNUALLY TO GIRLS IN THE NINTH GRADE WHO ATTEND HIGH SCHOOLS IN SOUTHEASTERN PENNSYLVANIA. CANDIDATES ARE NOMINATED BY SCHOOL COUNSELORS/PRINCIPALS OR COMMUNITY-BASED SPONSORS BASED ON THEIR COMMUNITY SERVICE ACTIVITIES AND LEADERSHIP QUALITIES. THE EMERGENCY AID FOUNDERS COMMITTEE CHOOSES 20 YOUNG WOMEN BASED ON A WRITTEN APPLICATION, DEMONSTRATED LEADERSHIP AND GOOD CITIZENSHIP.
