THE PHILADELPHIA PARKS ALLIANCE ADVOCATES ON BEHALF OF PHILADELPHIA PARKS, PLAYGROUNDS, AND RECREATION CENTERS; AND PROVIDES PROGRAMMATIC AND FISCAL SUPPORT TO THE CITY'S RECREATION CENTERS: 1) PARKS AND RECREATION ADVOCACY - THE ALLIANCE BUILDS AND ORGANIZES COALITIONS OF SUPPORT FOR IMPROVED PUBLIC SPACES, RECREATION FACILITIES AND PROGRAMS THROUGHOUT THE COMMONWEALTH. 2) RECREATION CENTER PROGRAMMING - IN PARTNERSHIP WITH PHILADELPHIA PARKS AND RECREATION, THE ALLIANCE ASSISTS IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF RECREATION ADVISORY COUNCILS, THE GOVERNING BODIES FOR RECREATION CENTERS, AND ORGANIZATION OF RECREATIONAL EVENTS.
