THE ORGANIZATION ADMINISTERS MUNICIPAL, COUNTY AND STATE FUNDED GRANT PROGRAMS TO ENHANCE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT, PARTNERSHIPS, CULTURAL CONSERVATION, RECREATION AND OPEN SPACE, AND EDUCATION AND INTERPRETATION THROUGHOUT THE SCHUYLKILL RIVER HERITAGE AREA. IT ALSO ADMINISTERS FEDERAL FUNDS FOR RESOURCE CONSERVATION AND ENHANCEMENT; EDUCATION AND INTERPRETATION; RECREATION; AND COMMUNITY REVITALIZATION. THE ORGANIZATION IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE CONSTRUCTION, SIGNAGE AND MAINTENANCE OF LAND AND WATER TRAILS WITHIN THE SCHUYLKILL RIVER HERITAGE AREA.
