FOR 48 YEARS, VSC HAS ACHIEVED AND MAINTAINED A STRONG POSITION IN THE COMMUNITY AS A PROVIDER OF FREE AND CONFIDENTIAL SUPPORTIVE SERVICES TO THOUSANDS OF VICTIMS OF SEXUAL VIOLENCE AND OTHER CRIMES. VSC SERVICES INCLUDE 24-HOUR CRISIS INTERVENTION VIA TWO HOTLINES, COUNSELING, SUPPORT GROUPS, ADVOCACY, A CHILD ABUSE TREATMENT AND FAMILY THERAPY PROGRAM, IN-PERSON HOSPITAL/POLICE/COURT ACCOMPANIMENTS, RISK REDUCTION/SAFETY EDUCATION PROGRAMS AND A COMMUNITY CRISIS RESPONSE TEAM. DURING THE FISCAL YEAR ENDED JUNE 30, 2022, VSC PROVIDED SERVICES TO 2,254 VICTIMS OF CRIME FOR 2,274 TOTAL VICTIMIZATIONS - 978 VICTIMS OF SEXUAL VIOLENCE, THE MAJORITY OF WHOM WERE WOMEN AND GIRLS; 1,296 VICTIMS OF OTHER CRIMES (I.E. BURGLARY, IDENTITY THEFT, ETC.). IN ADDITION, VSC CONDUCTED 200 RISK REDUCTION AND SAFETY EDUCATION PROGRAMS TO 8,331 MONTGOMERY COUNTY STUDENTS AND RESIDENTS. VSC ALSO ASSISTED CRIME VICTIMS IN RECEIVING 73,870 THROUGH THE PA VICTIMS COMPENSATION ASSISTANCE PROGRAM.

SEXUAL ASSAULT PROGRAM: VSC PROVIDES FREE AND COMPREHENSIVE SUPPORT SERVICES TO VICTIMS OF SEXUAL ASSAULT AND THEIR SIGNIFICANT OTHERS INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING: A - IMMEDIATE 24 HOUR CRISIS INTERVENTION VIA TWO 24 HOUR HOTLINES, ACCOMPANIMENTS TO HOSPITAL/POLICE STATIONS AS REQUESTED AS A RESULT OF A RAPE, AND REFERRALS TO COMMUNITY RESOURCES; B - COUNSELING SERVICES -INCLUDING INDIVIDUAL COUNSELING FOR SEXUAL ASSAULT SURVIVORS; SUPPORT GROUPS; C - A CHILD ABUSE TREATMENT PROGRAM (DIRECT SERVICE TO CHILDREN AND NON OFFENDING PARENTS/CAREGIVERS); AND IN-PERSON INTAKE ASSESSMENTS; D - ADVOCACY SERVICES WHICH INCLUDED ASSISTING VICTIMS IN RECEIVING CRIME VICTIMS COMPENSATION ASSISTANCE AND WITH VICTIM IMPACT STATEMENTS.
