TO PROVIDE SERVICES TO CHILDREN WITH DISABILITIES TO BEST ADDRESS THEIR NEEDS TO BUILD INDEPENDENCE AND SELF CONFIDENCE, BY ENGAGING THEM IN VOCATIONAL, RECREATIONAL, SOCIAL, VOCATIONAL AND EDUCATIONAL ENRICHMENT ACTIVITIES, WHILE CONNECTING THEIR FAMILIES TO RESOURCES.

THE ORGANIZATION OPERATES AN INNOVATIVE WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT MODEL CALLED VARIETYWORKS THAT SERVES YOUNG ADULTS WITH DISABILITIES AGES 14-24. VARIETYWORKS SEEKS TO TRANSITION THESE YOUNG ADULTS INTO JOBS THAT MATCH THEIR SKILLS, INTERESTS AND INDEPENDENCE LEVELS. PROGRAM COMPONENTS INCLUDE ASSESSMENT, ON SITE JOB SKILLS TRAINING, COMMUNITY TRAINING, AND ONE-ON-ONE JOB COACHING. VARIETY ALSO PROVIDES SUMMER AND ACADEMIC YEAR VOCATIONAL PROGRAMMING WHICH PROVIDES A SAFE AND SECURE ENVIRONMENT FOR STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES, WHERE THEY CAN LEARN AND BUILD SOCIAL CONNECTIONS WHILE ENGAGING IN VOCATIONAL AND "COTTAGE CRAFT" ACTIVITIES.THE ORGANIZATION OFFERS DAY CAMP, OVERNIGHT CAMP, AND EXTENDED SCHOOL YEAR PROGRAMS DURING THE SUMMER FOR CHILDREN AGES 5-21 ON ITS 77-ACRE CAMPUS LOCATED IN WORCESTER, PA. THESE PROGRAMS SERVE AS FEEDER PROGRAMS INTO THE FORMALIZED VOCATIONAL PROGRAMMING OFFERED THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. VARIETY ALSO OFFERS A SATELLITE SUMMER CAMP AT TEMPLE UNIVERSITY TO PROVIDE AN ENRICHING, INCLUSIVE CAMP EXPERIENCE TO CHILDREN IN AN URBAN SETTING.THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDES AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMMING ON CAMPUS AND IN PHILADELPHIA AT PARTNER SITES DURING THE ACADEMIC YEAR. THE PROGRAMS OFFER HIGH-QUALITY EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES, SOCIALIZATION OPPORTUNITIES, AND CULTURAL EXPOSURE FOR CHILDREN WITH DISABILITIES.
