PRODUCE AND SPONSOR THE ANNUAL SOMERSET COUNTY 4-H FAIR WHICH HAS BEEN IN EXISTENCE ANNUALLY SINCE 1948. APPROXIMATELY 60,000 VISITORS ARE ATTRACTED EACH YEAR WITHOUT AN ADMISSION CHARGE. THE FAIR IS A DISPLAY OF 4-H'ERS WORK THROUGH THE YEAR AND IS PRODUCED BY THE ASSOCIATION WITH EXTENSIVE SUPPORT PROVIDED BY THE COUNTY OF SOMERSET AND THE SOMERSET COUNTY PARK COMMISSION. FAIR LABOR IS PROVIDED BY APPROXIMATELY 500 VOLUNTEERS WHO COLLECTIVELY DONATE APPROXIMATELY 15,000 HOURS.THE 2021 SOMERSET COUNTY 4-H FAIR WAS CANCELLED DUE TO THE CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC.
OWNERSHIP OF THE TED BLUM SOMERSET COUNTY 4-H CENTER, A BUILDING PROVIDED FOR USE OF THE 4-H PROGRAM IN SOMERSET COUNTY. USED BY APPROXIMATELY 700 4-H MEMBERS OF 85 DIFFERENT 4-H CLUBS FOR MEETING AND ACTIVITY SPACE.
PROVIDE PROGRAM SUPPORT TO THE 4-H PROGRAM IN SOMERSET COUNTY INCLUDING SCHOLARSHIPS, FINANCIAL SUPPORT, PROGRAM ENHANCEMENT, AND VOLUNTEER SUPPORT.
