FOCUSING ON THE MULTIPLE ROLES OF FAMILY MEMBER, WAGE EARNER AND COMMUNITY LEADER, MEMBERS DEVELOP SKILLS FOR LIFE THROUGH: CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT, CREATIVE AND CRITICAL THINKING, INTERPERSONAL COMMUNICATIONS, PRACTICAL KNOWLEDGE AND CAREER PREPARATION

THE FALL LEADERSHIP CONNECTION WAS HELD IN PERSON ONLY AS IT HAD BEEN BEFORE COVID 19. IT INCLUDED AN ENGAGING KEYNOTE SPEAKER AND INFORMATIVE WORKSHOPS, STATE COMPETITIVE EVENTS WERE HELD IN PERSON AND ONLINE. ALL ONLINE EVENTS CREATED DURING COVID WERE KEPT. OUR CUPCAKE CHALLENGE WAS OUR COMMUNITY SERVICE INITIATIVE. THE PROCEEDS WERE DONATED TO AMERICARES. WE ALSO CONDUCTED A FOOD DRIVE AND POP TAB COLLECTION FOR THE RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE.
LEADERSHIP BOOTCAMP/CAPITAL LEADERSHIP/NATIONAL FALL CONFERENCE/STATE OFFICER TRAINING LEADERSHIP BOOTCAMP IS A ONE DAY TRAINING INCLUDING LEADERSHIP TRAINING FOR MEMBERS/OFFICERS AND ADVISERS. LEADERSHIP BOOTCAMP WAS HELD VIRTUALLY THIS YEAR AS A ONE DAY CONFERENCE. CAPITAL LEADERSHIP WAS HELD IN WASHINGTION DC. OFFICERS VISITED LEGISLATORS TO ADVOCATE FOR FCS EDUCATION/NATIONAL FALL CONFERENCE IS A SMALL CONFERENCE WITH SPEAKERS AND COMPETITIONS/ STATE OFFICER TRAINING WAS HELD IN 3 MEETINGS OVER THE SUMMER FOR NEW AND RETURNING STATE OFFICERS.MEALS AT SLC MONTHLY MEETINGS AND MEDAL PURCHASE FOR CONFERENCE AWARDS.
THE STATE LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE WAS BACK TO AN OVERNIGHT CONFERENCE. STUDENTS COMPETED IN PERSON IN STATE AND STAR EVENTS. THE CONFERENCE INCLUDED ENGAGING MOTIVATIONAL SPEAKERS, INFORMATIVE WORKSHOPS AND COMMUNITY SERVICE INITIATIVES. WE HAD OUR RECOGNITION DINNER AND OUR AWARDS LUNCHEON. OUR COMMUNITY SERVICE INITIATIVE WAS A FOOD DRIVE AND SUPPORT FOR THE COVENANT HOUSE. WE ALSO CONTINUED OUR POP TAB COLLECTION FOR THE RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE.
THE NATIONAL LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE WAS AN IN PERSON CONFERENCE HELD IN DENVER, COLORADO. THERE WERE KEYNOTE SPEAKERS AT THE OPENING AND CLOSING SESSIONS. THE WEEK INCLUDED MANY WORKSHOPS, RED TALKS AND GENERAL SESSIONS. THERE WAS A RECOGNITION SESSION FOR THE TOP 10 WINNERS ON STAGE. AN ADDITIONAL RECOGNITION SESSION WAS HELLD FOR ALL COMPETITORS IN OUR STATE.
