IN 2023, THE HUMANE SOCIETY OF YATES COUNTY (HSYC) CONTINUED THE INTAKE OF HOMELESS CANINES AND FELINES. THE INTAKE TOTAL FOR THE YEAR WAS 578 ANIMALS (471 CATS/107 DOGS) HSYC REHOMED A TOTAL OF 574 ANIMALS (477 CATS/ 97 DOGS). HSYC CONTINUED TO PROVIDE EDUCATIONAL AND VOLUNTEER PROGRAMS TO THE COMMUNITY THROUGHOUT THE YEAR WHILE ALSO PROVIDING SPAY-NEUTER SERVICES.
THE CLINIC (REFERRED TO AS THE "GREEN LINE CLINIC") WITHIN THE HSYC SHELTER PROVIDES SPAY AND NEUTER SERVICES FOR HOMELESS ANIMALS BROUGHT INTO THE SHELTER. IT ALSO OFFERS TWO INCOME-BASED LOW-COST SPAY AND NEUTER (LCSN) PROGRAMS, SUPPORTS OTHER AREA SHELTERS AND RESCUE GROUPS, AND PARTICIPATES IN TRAP-NEUTER-RETURN (TNR) PROGRAMS FOR COMMUNITY CATS. IN 2023, THE CLINIC PERFORMED 462 SHELTER ANIMAL SURGERIES, 169 LCSN COMMUNITY ANIMAL SURGERIES, 155 TNR CAT SURGERIES, AND 173 SPAY/NEUTER SURGERIES FOR OTHER NON-PROFIT ANIMAL RESCUE PARTNERS.
