THE ORGANIZATION OFFERS BOTH CONFIDENTIAL TELEPHONE SUPPORT TO PEOPLE IN CRISIS AND PERSONALIZED INFORMATION AND REFERRALS TO THOSE NEEDING ASSISTANCE. THE ORGANIZATION ADMINISTERS THE 2-1-1 SYSTEM IN NEW JERSEY THROUGH THE OPERATION OF A CALL CENTER DESIGNATED TO MAINTAIN A 24-HOUR, 7-DAY A WEEK STATEWIDE VOICE AND DATA SYSTEM SO THAT EVERY NEW JERSEY RESIDENT HAS IMMEDIATE ACCESS TO COMMUNITY AND GOVERNMENTAL RESOURCES TO ASSIST IN HIS/HER NEEDS. THE SYSTEM FACILITATES ACCESS TO HEALTH, GOVERNMENT AND HUMAN SERVICES AND CONTINUALLY ENHANCES ITS INFORMATION AND REFERRAL NETWORK. THE SYSTEM ALSO ENHANCES COMMUNITY PLANNING FOR NEEDED SERVICES AND IMPROVES SERVICE DELIVERY THROUGH DOCUMENTATION AND DISSEMINATION OF INFORMATION ABOUT HUMAN NEEDS.

WE ARE PROUD OF THE NATIONALLY ACCREDITED INFORMATION AND REFERRAL SYSTEM THAT NJ 2-1-1 PROVIDES TO RESIDENTS OF NEW JERSEY. OUR SERVICES ARE FREE, CONFIDENTIAL, MULTI-LINGUAL AND EASILY ACCESSED 24 HOURS A DAY, EVERY DAY OF THE YEAR BY PHONE (DIAL 2-1-1), BY TEXT (TEXT ZIP CODE TO 898-211) AND CHAT (AT WWW.NJ211.ORG).IN 2021, WE HELPED OVER 1 MILLION PEOPLE FIND PROGRAMS AND SERVICES THAT OFFERED THE HELP THEY NEEDED. OVER 272,000 RECEIVED LIVE ASSISTANCE, WHILE MORE THAN 913,000 CONTACTS WERE WEB BASED, WHERE PEOPLE WERE ABLE TO SEARCH OUR RESOURCE DATABASE AS WELL AS ACCESS HUNDREDS OF INFORMATIVE PAGES THAT PROVIDE ESSENTIAL DETAILS AND DOCUMENTS RELATED TO PROGRAMS THAT CAN ASSIST THEM. PEOPLE REACH OUT TO NJ 211 FOR HELP WITH LIFE'S MOST BASIC NEEDS, SUCH AS FOOD, SHELTER, AFFORDABLE HOUSING, UTILITY ASSISTANCE AND HEALTH CARE. REQUESTS FOR HELP COME FROM ALL 21 COUNTIES AND THE FACTS COLLECTED AS A RESULT OF THOSE INQUIRIES MAKE NJ 211 AN ESSENTIAL TOOL FOR PROVIDING REAL-TIME DATA AND TREND INFORMATION - ALERTING LOCAL COMMUNITIES AND PROVIDERS OF SERVICE TO EMERGING NEEDS AND MAKING IT POSSIBLE FOR RESOURCES TO BE DIRECTED TO WHERE THEY WILL DO THE MOST GOOD. NJ 211 SHARES OUR DATA ON WWW.211COUNTS.ORG, A REAL-TIME ELECTRONIC DASHBOARD THAT DISPLAYS CONTACTS BY NEED AND GEOGRAPHICAL LOCATION. WE ARE ALSO SHARING BOTH OUR CLIENT DATA AND RESOURCE DATABASE WITH UNITED WAY WORLDWIDE SO THAT THE 211 NATIONALLY CAN COLLECTIVELY ILLUSTRATE OUR IMPACT AND VALUE. IN 2021, WE CONTINUED TO OPERATE THE COVID-19 HOTLINE TO ASSIST RESIDENTS WITH INFORMATION RELATED TO COVID-19 SAFETY, TESTING, AND VACCINATION. WE ALSO WERE KEENLY AWARE OF THE MENTAL HEALTH TOLL THE PANDEMIC AND ITS IMPACT HAS TAKEN. GOVERNOR CODEY PROMOTED NJ 211 AS A STARTING POINT FOR HELP WITH DEPRESSION IN THE SPRING OF 2021.NJ 211 WAS ASKED BY THE VISITING NURSES ASSOCIATION OF CENTRAL JERSEY TO PROVIDE A CLOSED LOOP REFERRAL SOLUTION FOR THE NJ INTEGRATED CARE FOR KIDS PROJECT. WE ARE PROVIDING THE SOFTWARE, THROUGH A PARTNERSHIP WITH OPEN CITY LABS, AS WELL AS PROVIDING OUR COMPREHENSIVE RESOURCE DATABASE FOR SOCIAL NEEDS SUCH AS FOOD, HOUSING, HEALTHCARE AND MORE. THE GOAL IS TO INCREASE IN-HOME SERVICES FOR HIGH RISK CHILDREN AND DECREASE RESIDENTIAL SERVICES. THIS IS A MEDICAID FUNDED PROJECT. OUR RESOURCE DATABASE INCLUDES OVER 2,200 AGENCIES PROVIDING MORE THAN 6,700 PROGRAMS AND SERVICES. THIS DATABASE EQUIPS OUR EXPERTLY TRAINED COMMUNITY RESOURCE SPECIALISTS AND WEBSITE TEAM TO ANALYZE WHAT SERVICES ARE NEEDED AND CONNECT PEOPLE QUICKLY AND EFFECTIVELY TO THE HELP THEY NEED WHEN THEY NEED IT MOST. AS A RESULT, NJ 211 SERVES AS THE FRONT DOOR TO SERVICES AND A LIFELINE FOR THOSE WHO SIMPLY DO NOT KNOW WHERE TO TURN IN TIMES OF CRISIS AND CONFUSION.
