Part 3 - Line 4a
THE RVHFH HABITAT RESTORE RAISES FUNDS TO ENABLE THE ORGANIZATION TO BUILD HOMES FOR MORE FAMILIES IN THE LOCAL AREA. THE RESTORE BENEFITS THE ENTIRE COMMUNITY BY OFFERING NEW AND GENTLY-USED HOUSEHOLD GOODS AND BUILDING SUPPLIES TO THE PUBLIC AT BARGAIN PRICES, PROVIDES REWARDING VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES, AND KEEPS ITEMS OUT OF LANDFILLS. THE RVHFH RESTORE DONATES FURNITURE AND OTHER HOUSEHOLD GOODS TO SOCIAL SERVICE AGENCIES TO SUPPORT CITIZENS IN THE LOCAL COMMUNITY.
RARITAN VALLEY HABITAT FOR HUMANITY, INC. (RVHFH) BUILDS STRENGTH, STABILITY AND SELF-RELIANCE FOR LOW-AND MODERATE-INCOME INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES IN HUNTERDON AND SOMERSET COUNTIES THROUGH AFFORDABLLE HOME OWNERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES. THE HABITAT PROGRAM IS TRULY UNIQUE; PARTNER HOMEOWNERS INVEST 250-500+ HOURS WORKING ALONGSIDE VOLUNTEERS FROM ACROSS THE COMMUNITY TO BUILD THEIR HOMES, AND, AT THE SAME TIME, BUILD BRIDGES OF UNDERSTANDING, EMPATHY AND RESPECT BETWEEN DIVERSE GROUPS. RVHFH EXTENDS A 0%-INTEREST MORTGAGE TO PARTNER HOMEOWNERS, AND, BECAUSE OF THE EXTENSIVE SUPPORT OF DEDICATED, SKILLLED VOLUNTEERS, IS ABLE TO SELL HOMES FOR A FRACTION OF THEIR MARKET VALUE. AS A RESULT, PARTNER HOMEOWNERS' MONTHLY MORTGAGE PAYMENTS ARE SIGNIFICANTLY LESS THAN THEY HAVE BEEN PAYING FOR RENT, ALLOWING THEM TO SET ASIDE MONEY EACH MONTH TO BUILD SAVINGS, OBTAIN NEEDED MEDICAL AND DENTAL CARE, GO BACK TO SCHOOL TO INCREASE THEIR EARNINGS POTENTIAL AND SAVE FOR THEIR CHILDREN'S COLLEGE EDUCATION. THE OPPORTUNITY TO LIVE IN A DECENT, HEALTHY AND STABLE HOUSEHOLD IN A SAFE, NURTURING NEIGHBORHOOD WITH ACCESS TO GOOD MEDICAL CARE, SCHOOLS, RECREATION, AND ROLE MODELS TRANSFORMS LIVES FOR GENERATIONS TO COME.
