Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
Part 3 - Line 4a
CONCERTS: DUE TO THE GLOBAL PANDEMIC, WE WERE UNABLE TO PROVIDE IN-PERSON CONCERTS TO THE PUBLIC. HOWEVER, WE PRESENTED 6 VIRTUAL CONCERTS, REPRESENTING A MIX OF CLASSICAL AND POPULAR MUSIC GENRES, THAT WERE CUSTOMIZED FOR OUR LOCAL AUDIENCE. IN ADDITION, WE REFERRED MEMBERS OF OUR COMMUNITY TO VIRTUAL CONCERTS WITH NON-CUSTOMIZED CONTENT. BECAUSE OF STRESSES OF THE GLOBAL PANDEMIC, WE DECIDED TO OFFER VIRTUAL CONCERTS FREE OF CHARGE. WE ALSO DECIDED NOT TO SEEK ADVERTISING OF SPONSORSHIP REVENUE FROM LOCAL BUSINESSES, WHICH WERE ALSO UNDER STRESS. WE WERE UNABLE TO TRACK THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE WHO VIEWED OUR VIRTUAL CONCERTS EITHER AT THE TIME ORIGINALLY OFFERED OR SUBSEQUENTLY. WE PLAN TO RETURN TO PROVIDING IN-PERSON CONCERTS TO THE PUBLIC WHEN IT IS SAFE TO DO SO AND WHEN CONCERT VENUES BECOME AVAILABLE TO US.
EDUCATION: THE GLOBAL PANDEMIC FORCED US TO CURTAIL THE MAJORITY OF OUR EDUCATION-RELATED ACTIVITIES. HOWEVER, WE WERE ABLE TO ASSIST STUDENTS BY PAYING FOR MUSIC LESSONS FOR 2 STUDENTS, AWARDING MONEY TO 2 HIGH-SCHOOL SENIORS FOR ACHIEVEMENT IN MUSIC PROGRAMS AND PAYING PART OF TUITION FOR 1 STUDENT TO ATTEND MUSIC SCHOOL. IN EACH CASE, LOCAL SCHOOLS SCHOOLS NOMINATED STUDENTS FOR OUR CONSIDERATION, TWO BOARD MEMBERS RECOMMENDED STUDENTS AND AWARDS, AND THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS APPROVED THE RECOMMENDATION. NO STUDENTS WERE RELATED TO BOARD MEMBERS.
