WITH CONTRIBUTIONS OF FUNDS, VOLUNTEER LABOR, AND IN-KIND MATERIALS/SERVICES, WE CONSTRUCT, RENOVATE, AND REPAIR HOMES. HOMES ARE SOLD TO INCOME-QUALIFIED PARTNER FAMILIES AT AFFORDABLE PRICES WITH AFFORDABLE MORTGAGES. WE PREPARE FAMILIES TO BE SUCCESSFUL HOMEOWNERS THROUGH EXTENSIVE PRE AND POST-SALE FINANCIAL, SOCIAL, HOME-MAINTENANCE AND OTHER SUPPORT SERVICES. IN FY22 WE COMPLETED FOUR RECYCLED HOMES, BROKE GROUND ON SIX NEW SINGLE-FAMILY HOMES AS WELL AS A MIXED-USE BUILDING WHICH WILL PROVIDE PROGRAM SPACE FOR VETERAN'S SERVICES AND FOUR UNITS OF HOUSING, AND PILOTED A NEW CRITICAL REPAIR PROGRAM. WE ALSO WORKED ON THE PREDEVELOPMENT OF NINE ADDITIONAL SINGLE-FAMILY UNITS AND THE CONCEPT DESIGN FOR A MIXED-USE CONCEPT WHICH WILL PROVIDE SUPPORTIVE HOUSING AND CHILDCARE FOR SINGLE MOTHERS. ONGOING COVID-19 CONCERNS REDUCED VOLUNTEER SERVICE HOURS BY OVER 50% FROM BEFORE THE PANDEMIC.
OUR RESTORE PROGRAM CONSISTS OF A 22,000 SQUARE FOOT RETAIL OUTLET SELLING DONATED NEW AND GENTLY USED FURNITURE, APPLIANCES, AND BUILDING SUPPLIES TO THE PUBLIC AT GREATLY REDUCED PRICES. NET PROCEEDS GO TO FURTHER THE MISSION OF PATERSON HABITAT. THE BENEFITS TO THE COMMUNITY ARE TWOFOLD; FIRST THAT WE OFFER LOWER-PRICED ITEMS FOR SALE, AND SECOND THAT WE REUSE OR RECYCLE ITEMS WHICH WOULD OTHERWISE HAVE TAKEN UP SPACE IN A LANDFILL. IN FY22 WE DIVERTED 795 TONS OF MATERIALS FROM LANDFILLS THROUGH 600 DONATION PICK-UPS, 775 DONATION DROP-OFFS, AND 16,300 SALES TRANSACTIONS.
