YOUTH CATALYTICS IS A NATIONAL NON-PROFIT TRAINING AND RESEARCH ORGANIZATION HEADQUARTERED IN VT, WITH ADDITIONAL OFFICES IN ME, OR AND DC. ESTABLISHED IN 1981 TO SUPPORT CHILD WELFARE PROGRAMS IN NEW ENGLAND, OVER TIME YOUTH CATALYTICS HAS EXPANDED TO WORK WITH MULTI-SERVICE AGENCIES, SCHOOLS, COMMUNITIES, STATE SYSTEMS, UNIVERSITIES AND FOUNDATIONS THROUGHOUT THE UNITED STATES. YOUTH CATALYTICS BUILDS ORGANIZATIONAL CAPACITY IN YOUTH SERVING AND YOUTH LED ORGANIZATIONS BY PROVIDING STRATEGIC PLANNING, FUND DEVELOPMENT, PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT, COMMUNICATIONS EXPERTISE, EVALUATION, AND SPONSORSHIP.

YOUTH CATALYTICS HAS RESEARCHED AND DEVELOPED RESOURCES FOR MORE THAN 600 FEDERALLY FUNDED AGENCICES NATIONWIDE ON SELF-CARE, CREATING CULTURES OF HAPPINESS, HIRING RIGHT, RETAINING THE BEST, AND CREATIVE WAYS TO IMPROVE COMPENSATION. WE DEVELOPED A REVIEW OF TIP SHEETS FOR THE FAMILY & YOUTH SERVICE BUREAU, SUMMARIZING CURRENT OUTREACH AND PROVIDING DOZENS OF PRACTICAL SUGGESTIONS FOR YOURTH-DRIVING ORGANIZATIONS FOR HAPPIER, MORE PRODUCTIVE AND STABLE WORK FORCES. UNDER A FEDERAL DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE FUNDED PROJECT, THE YOUNG ADULT EMPOWERMENT COLLABORATIVE IN WESTERN MASSACHUSETTS IS WORKING TO ENGAGE YOUNG PEOPLE IN FOUR COUTNIES IN YOUTH DRIVEN COMMUNITY MAPPING PROJECTS USING THE YOUTHMAP TOOLKIT AND NEW CIRRICULUM MATERIALS. YOUTHMAP IS A JOURNALISM BASED PARTICPATORY RESEARCH MODEL THAT CONNECTS HIGH RISK YOUTH TO ADULTS AND OPPORTUNITIES IN THE OWN COMMUNITIES TO GROW THEIR ABILITY TO HELP THEMSELVES WHILE FRAMING IMPORTANT GAPS FOR LOCAL POLICY MAKERS. IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE UMASSS DONAHUE INSTITUTE, YOUTH CATALYTICS SUPPORTS THE MASSACHUSETTS DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH GUN VIOLENCE PROGRAM (GVP) GRANTEES BY PROVIDING COMMUNICATIONS TRAINING AND QUALITY BRANDED MATERIALS TO 10 ORGANIZATIONS LOCATED IN COMMUNITIES WITH THE HIGHEST RATES OF GUN VIOLENCE IN THE STATE. THE GVP RAMPS UP PREVENTION EFFORTS BY IDENTIFYING AND WORKING INTENSIVELY WITH YOUNG PEOPLE WHO ARE THE MOST AT RISK OF EXPERIENCING VIOLENCE.
