THE MISSION OF AANP IS TO EMPOWER ALL NURSE PRACTITIONERS TO ADVANCE QUALITY HEALTH CARE THROUGH PRACTICE, EDUCATION, ADVOCACY, RESEARCH AND LEADERSHIP.

IN 2021 AANP PROVIDED A VIRTUAL HEALTH POLICY CONFERENCE, VIRTUAL NATIONAL CONFERENCE, AND A HYBRID FALL CONFERENCE (VIRTUAL AND IN-PERSON). THE NATIONAL VIRTUAL CONFERENCE HAD 5,523 REGISTRANTS, OF WHICH 4,329 REGISTRANTS VIEWED SESSIONS. THERE WERE 80 NP POSTER PRESENTATIONS AND 44 INDUSTRY POSTERS. OF THOSE PARTICIPANTS THAT VIEWED SESSIONS, ON AVERAGE, THEY ACCESSED AND COMPLETED 23 SESSIONS. CONFERENCE EVENTS AND OPPORTUNITIES INCLUDED 99 ON-DEMAND SESSIONS, 4 SEMI-LIVE EVENTS, 15 NON-CE PRODUCT THEATERS, 1 STUDENT SEMI-LIVE EVENT AND AN INTEREST FORUM. THE IN-PERSON PORTION OF THE FALL CONFERENCE HAD 758 ATTENDEES. THE VIRTUAL PORTION OF THE FALL HYBRID CONFERENCE HAD 2,771 REGISTRANTS, OF WHICH 1,676 REGISTRANTS VIEWED SESSIONS. OF THOSE PARTICIPANTS THAT VIEWED SESSIONS, ON AVERAGE, THEY ACCESSED AND COMPLETED 17 SESSIONS. CONFERENCE OPPORTUNITIES INCLUDED 50 ON-DEMAND SESSIONS AND AN INTEREST FORUM. THE VIRTUAL EXPERIENCE ALLOWED FOR NETWORKING VIA FORUMS TO HAVE CHAT DISCUSSIONS ON CURRENT ISSUES AFFECTING NPS. THE VIRTUAL EXPERIENCE ALLOWED FOR NETWORKING VIA FORUMS TO HAVE CHAT DISCUSSIONS ON CURRENT ISSUES AFFECTING NPS.
AANP'S LEGISLATIVE TEAM REPRESENTS NURSE PRACTITIONERS (NPS) AND THEIR PATIENTS ON CRITICAL ISSUES RELATED TO LICENSURE, ACCESS TO CARE, PATIENT SAFETY, HEALTH CARE REFORM, REIMBURSEMENT, AND OTHER CONCERNS AT ALL POLICY LEVELS. IN ADDITION TO ADVOCATING ON ISSUES THAT IMPACT NPS AND THEIR PATIENTS, AANP REPRESENTS NPS ON NATIONAL COMMITTEES AND IN HEALTH ORGANIZATIONS.
THE MAJORITY OF AANP'S GRANTS ARE USED TO FUND RESEARCH AND EDUCATION. DURING 2021, AANP OFFERED MORE THAN 287 CONTINUING EDUCATION ACTIVITIES AND DEVELOPED AND DISTRIBUTED IMPORTANT HEALTH CARE RESOURCE TOOLS FOR BOTH PROVIDERS AND THEIR PATIENTS.
