THE TOWNSEND-ASHBY YOUTH SOCCER ASSOCIATION (TAYSA) IS A NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION RUN COMPLETELY BY VOLUNTEERS, ENCOURAGING KIDS AGES 3 THROUGH 19 TO PARTICIPATE IN ORGANIZED YOUTH SOCCER. TAYSA RUNS TWO SEASONS EACH YEAR; ONE IN THE FALL AND ONE IN THE SPRING, BRINGING HUNDREDS OF KIDS AND THEIR FAMILIES TOGETHER EACH SEASON. GOALS OF THE ORGANIZATION INCLUDE: (1) IMPROVING THE FITNESS, CONFIDENCE, INITIATIVE, AND PARTICIPATION OF ALL PLAYERS; (2) DEVELOPING PLAYERS AT ALL LEVELS OF PLAY (RECREATIONAL AND TRAVEL) BY ENHANCING THEIR SKILLS, UNDERSTANDING OF TEAMWORK, AND SPORTSMANSHIP; (3) PROMOTING A POSITIVE AND ENTHUSIASTIC SPORTING ENVIRONMENT FOR YOUTH PARTICIPANTS AND PARENTS; (4) DEVELOPING COACHES THROUGH A QUALITY INSTRUCTIONAL PROGRAM; AND (5) CONTINUALLY ADVOCATING FOR IMPROVED AND INCREMENTAL PLAYING/PRACTICE FIELDS THROUGHOUT THE TOWN.
