THE EMMANUEL CANCER FOUNDATION IS A STATEWIDE, GRASSROOTS ORGANIZATION DEDICATED TO IMPROVING THE QUALITY OF LIFE FOR NEW JERSEY FAMILIES WITH A CHILD SUFFERING FROM CANCER. ANY FAMILY WHO HAS A CHILD, 18 YEARS OR YOUNGER, IS ELIGIBLE TO RECEIVE ASSISTANCE WHICH INCLUDES COUNSELING AND OTHER RELATED SERVICES, DIRECT FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE, REGIONAL CENTER SUPPORT SERVICES.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE EMMANUEL CANCER FOUNDATION'S FUNDS ARE AVAILABLE FOR ECF FAMILIES WHO FIND THEMSELVES IN A FINANCIAL CRISIS. THESE FUNDS HELP WITH BASIC SERVICES THAT A FAMILY NEEDS TO SURVIVE, SUCH AS RENT OR UTILITIES. SOMETIMES, THIS VITAL ASSISTANCE REIMBURSES THE FAMILY FOR MEALS WHILE THEY WERE IN THE HOSPITAL WITH THEIR CHILD. TRAGICALLY, IN SOME INCIDENTS, FUNDS ARE AVAILABLE FOR FAMILIES WHO ARE UNABLE TO MEET THE HIGH COSTS OF MEMORIAL SERVICES.DURING FISCAL YEAR 2022, THE ORGANIZATION SERVED 283 FAMILIES ALL OVER NEW JERSEY.
COUNSELING - EMMANUEL CANCER FOUNDATION'S PROFESSIONAL CASEWORKERS ARE FOCUSED ON MAINTAINING THE EMOTIONAL BALANCE OF THE FAMILY UNIT. CASEWORKERS PROVIDE COUNSELING AND EMOTIONAL SUPPORT FOR THE ENTIRE FAMILY AND CAN HELP SIBLINGS, AND OTHERS IN THE FAMILY UNDERSTAND WHAT THEY NEED TO KNOW ABOUT CANCER IN TERMS THEY CAN UNDERSTAND.DURING FISCAL YEAR 2022, CASEWORKERS MADE 1,061 HOME VISITS AND PROVIDED AN ADDITIONAL 2,771 HOURS OF COUNSELING AT NO COST TO THE FAMILIES.
REGIONAL CENTERS - EMMANUEL CANCER FOUNDATION'S FOUR REGIONAL CENTERS SERVE THE ENTIRE STATE OF NEW JERSEY BY COLLECTING AND DISTRIBUTING GROCERIES, CLOTHING, TOYS, HOUSEHOLD ITEMS, AND BIRTHDAY/HOLIDAY GIFTS, TO STRUGGLING FAMILIES. THESE EFFORTS HELP EASE FAMILIES' BURDENS AND PRESERVE THEIR QUALITY OF LIFE. WHILE BATTLING PEDIATRIC CANCER, EVEN SIMPLE TASKS SUCH AS SHOPPING FOR GROCERIES AND MAINTAINING THE HOME ARE NEGLECTED BECAUSE THE FAMILY BECOMES OVERWHELMED BY TAKING CARE OF THEIR CHILD'S NEEDS.DURING FISCAL YEAR 2022, 2,592 BAGS OF GROCERIES WERE DELIVERED TO FAMILIES BY VOLUNTEERS FROM THE REGIONAL CENTERS. IN ADDITION, 354 BIRTHDAY BAGS AND 341 HOLIDAY GIFT WISHES WERE SENT TO ECF KIDS AND THEIR SIBLINGS.DEDICATED VOLUNTEERS LOGGED AN AMAZING 2,457 HOURS OF INVALUABLE HELP TO THE ORGANIZATION AND ECF KIDS AND FAMILIES.
