THE HOUSE OF THE HOLY COMFORTER IS A 53-BED ASSISTED LIVING RESIDENCE FOR SENIORS, WHICH IS LICENSED BY THE NEW JERSEY STATE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH. ACCOMMODATIONS RANGE FROM SEMI-PRIVATE TO DELUXE STUDIO ROOMS. ALL RESIDENTS ENJOY THREE MEALS DAILY, HOUSEKEEPING AND LAUNDRY SERVICES, A 24-HOUR EMERGENCY RESPONSE SYSTEM, HEALTH/WELLNESS SERVICES, PLANNED ENTERTAINMENT, ACTIVITY PROGRAMS, WIRELESS INTERNET, AND TRANSPORTATION SERVICES. THEY MAY ALSO UTILIZE THE MANY COMMON AREAS SUCH AS THE CHAPEL, BEAUTY SALON, GREAT ROOM, LIBRARY, OUTDOOR COURTYARD, ARTS AND CRAFTS ROOM, AND SUN ROOM.DURING THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING JUNE 30, 2022, THE FACILITY SERVED 35 RESIDENTS, OF WHICH 9 PARTICIPATED IN THE MEDICAID WAIVER PROGRAM. RESIDENTS ENJOYED NUMEROUS ACTIVITIES THIS YEAR INCLUDING REGULAR VISITS FROM MONTCLAIR STATE UNIVERSITY AND SETON HALL PREP STUDENTS. THE MONTCLAIR STUDENTS ALSO FACILITATED THE ADOPT A GRANDPARENT PROGRAM, WHICH STARTED ON GRANDPARENTS DAY - STUDENTS VISITED WITH RESIDENTS TO PROVIDE COMPANIONSHIP, WORK ON AN ART PROJECT TOGETHER AND GOT ACQUAINTED WITH THEIR ADOPTED GRANDPARENT. THEY ALSO HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO CONTINUE COMMUNICATING AND VISITING AFTER GRANDPARENTS DAY. A NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION, THE HEARTS OF HOPE, SPONSORED A PROGRAM THAT PROVIDED PERSONALIZED CERAMIC HEARTS TO EACH RESIDENT WITH A MESSAGE OF HOPE, LOVE AND ENCOURAGEMENT, AND ALLOWED EACH RESIDENT AN OPPORTUNITY TO CREATE A CUSTOMIZED HEART TO PASS ALONG TO SOMEONE ELSE. THE LIFE CHRISTIAN CHURCH ALSO HOSTED A SUMMER FESTIVAL, AND THE ACTIVITIES DEPARTMENT PUT TOGETHER A CINCO DE MAYO FIESTA IN THE SPRING. OTHER REGULARLY SCHEDULED ACTIVITIES INCLUDED MUSICAL PERFORMANCES, BINGO, COOKING DEMONSTRATIONS, EXERCISE CLASSES, KNITTING & CROCHETING CLASSES, AND MORE.
