RESIDENCE PROGRAM - THE YMCA OFFERS AFFORDABLE PERMANENT HOUSING AND SHELTER FOR FREE OR FOR AN AFFORDABLE FEE TO THE YOUNG, ELDERLY, POOR, UNEMPLOYED, HOMELESS AND RETIRED PEOPLE. THE PURPOSE IS TO PROVIDE A WHOLESOME ENVIRONMENT DESIGNED TO FOSTER GOOD CITIZENSHIP AND SOUND CHARACTER. A VARIETY OF SERVICES SUCH AS COUNCILING, TV AND READING ROOM, USE OF GYM AND POOL ARE AVAILABLE TO THE RESIDENTS. THE PROGRAM BENEFITS APPROXIMATLEY 203 INDIVIDUALS. CASE MANAGEMENT AND CONSULTATION WITH LICENSED SOCIAL WORKERS ARE ALSO PROVIDED.
PRESCHOOL PROGRAM - THE MISSION OF THE PRESCHOOL PROGRAM IS TO PROVIDE VITAL EDUCATIONAL AND COMMUNITY PROGRAMING THAT WILL ENHANCE THE MIND, BODY AND SPIRIT OF THE PRESCHOOLERS AND THEIR FAMILIES. THE PROGRAM IS A STATE MANDATED PROGRAM THAT COLLABORATES WITH THE PATERSON BOARD OF EDUCATION TO PROVIDE FREE EDUCATION TO RESIDENTS WITH PRESCHOOL AGED CHILDREN RESIDING IN THE CITY OF PATERSON
