A NON-PROFIT ART CENTER DEDICATED TO THE PRODUCTION AND PRESERVATION OF HAND PAPERMAKING AND THE ART OF THE BOOK. THE MORGAN PURSUES ITS EDUCATIONAL AND CHARITABLE PURPOSES BY CONDUCTING WORKSHOP, EXHIBITIONS AND TOURS.

10 ARTISTS PARTICIPATED IN OPEN STUDIO, AND WE HOSTED 8 LOCAL, REGIONAL, AND NATIONAL ARTISTS-IN-RESIDENCE (14 WERE INVITED BUT DUE TO THE PANDEMIC THE FOUR INTERNATIONAL INVITEES WERE UNABLE TO ATTEND). THE MORGAN RECEIVED WELL OVER 1000 HOURS IN VOLUNTEER SERVICES FROM VOLUNTEERS.
OUR GALLERY PRESENTED 5 FREE, CURATED EXHIBITIONS, WHICH INCLUDED WORKS BY ARTS OF THE MUSEUM OF CREATED HUMAN ART WHERE 250+ ATTENDED THE EXHIBITION, THE NATIONAL JURIED SHOW THAT GARNERED 200 LOCAL AND NATIONAL ENTRIESL. WE PROVIDED OVER 100 ARTISTS THE OPPORTUNITY TO EXHIBIT WITH POTENTIAL SALES OF ARTWORK. TOTAL ATTENDANCE (AGE RANGE 0-80 PLUS) TO EXHIBITIONS WAS IN EXCESS OF 1500 INDIVIDUALS. ALL EXHIBITIONS INCLUDED AN ARTIST TALK (FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC) AND 4 ADDITIONAL LECTURES WERE GIVEN BY ARTISTS-IN-RESIDENCE AND VISITING ARTISTS, ATTENDED BY CLOSE TO 120 INDIVIDUALS OF ALL AGES. ALL THE EXHIBITIONS FURTHERED THE MORGANS MISSION TO BRING THE ART OF HANDMADE PAPER, BOOK AND PRINT TO THE PUBLIC TO EDUCATE, PROVIDE CULTURAL DIVERSITY AND ENRICHMENT TO THE LOCAL COMMUNITY. THERE WERE NEARLY 1500 VISITORS IN 2021, APPROXIMATELY 40% WERE SENIORS, 20% WERE CHILDREN AND 40% ADULTS.
IN 2021 THE MORGAN OFFERED 30 WORKSHOPS IN HAND PAPERMAKING, PRINT, BOOK, AND PAPER ARTS TO THE PUBLIC. WORKSHOPS WERE ATTENDED BY 180 INDIVIDUALS NATION-WIDE. INTERNS/VOLUNTEERS (MAJORITY COLLEGE STUDENTS) WERE ABLE TO SERVE AS ASSISTANTS IN THE WORKSHOPS OR PARTICIPATE FOR A MINIMAL FEE. 8 EMPLOYEES AND CONTRACT WORKERS WERE AFFORDED THE OPPORTUNITY TO LEARN PAPERMAKING, LETTERPRESS, FINE PRINTING, BOOK, AND PAPER ARTS. 15 CUSTOM WORKSHOPS ON AND OFF-SITE WERE HELD FOR OVER 400 K-12 AND COLLEGE STUDENTS, COVERING HAND PAPERMAKING, PRINT, BOOK AND PAPER ARTS.
