CAMP CONE WAS FORMED IN 1934 WHEN THE LAND WAS DONATED TO BE HELD BY FIRST UNITED METHODIST CORVALLIS FOR BSA TROOP 2, WHO THEY SPONSORED. FRIENDS OF CAMP CONE WAS FORMED WHEN THE CHURCH DECIDED THE LIABILITY WAS TOO GREAT AND PASSED THE PROPERTY OFF. IN 2023 CAMP CONE WAS PRIMARILY USED BY BSA TROOP 2 AND TROOP 3 FOR CAMPING AND BSA ACTIVITIES. APPROXIMATELY TWENTY DAYS IN 2023, INCLUDING WEBLO DAY RECRUITING ACCOUNTING FOR 16 OVERNIGHT CAMPING FOR APPROXIMATELY 12 SCOUTS AND 4 RECRUITING DAYS WITH APPROXIMATELY 14 KIDS. IN THE RECENT PAST IT WAS USED FOR FIRST UNITED CHURCH DAY USE. IT IS CURRENTLY OFFERED TO ANY YOUTH OR CHURCH ORGANIZATION IN BENTON COUNTY.
